Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to join our team. This critical role is responsible for developing and managing preventive and corrective maintenance schedules, ensuring optimal equipment uptime, resource coordination, and continuous improvement of our maintenance systems. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment, and is passionate about planning, organization, and team collaboration.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following.



  • Develop and maintain the maintenance work plan, balancing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with maintenance technicians, production supervisors, and other departments to schedule work with minimal impact on operations.
  • Create, manage, and optimize work orders using Maximo MMS.
  • Ensure parts, tools, documentation, and resources are available prior to job execution.
  • Monitor backlog and adjust scheduling priorities as needed.
  • Review completed work orders for quality, accuracy, and feedback to improve future planning.
  • Assist with downtime and root cause analysis to identify recurring equipment issues.
  • Track key metrics such as schedule compliance, accumulated labor, and maintenance backlog.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to increase maintenance efficiency and equipment reliability.

Background & Skills

Required:



  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance or manufacturing experience or prior planning/scheduling experience.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or industrial systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
  • Must be able to work in the US, without sponsorship, both now and in the future.


Preferred:



  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing, facilities, or utilities environments.
  • Proficiency in CMMS software Maximo.
  • Familiarity with Lean, TPM, or Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) practices.
  • Certifications such as CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) are a plus.



Work Environment:



  • Split between office and industrial plant floor.
  • Occasional exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery.
  • Standard Monday-Friday schedule, with some flexibility for emergencies or shutdowns.
