Senior Advanced Configuration Management Associate

• Job Overview:

  ACARA Solutions is seeking a Sr. Advanced Configuration Manager for a contract-to-hire opportunity with our client in Manassas, VA. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate configuration control of hardware, software, firmware, and documentation throughout the lifecycle of complex systems in a defense-focused environment.

  Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, test, installation) to develop and maintain build schedules, initiating build and packaging processes accordingly.

  • Create, review, and improve system installation procedures for software and firmware releases.

  • Work alongside technicians and subject matter experts to develop, review, and execute detailed build documentation, ensuring product quality and configuration accuracy.

  • Manage configuration of software and firmware builds, ensuring components are properly versioned, tracked, stored, and repeatable across all media and environments.

  • Ensure software/test/production environments are synchronized with final lab and shipboard builds.

  • Coordinate distribution and shipment of release media to customer locations.

  • Interface with other programs and projects to manage release notifications and firmware/software posts.

  • Track and manage licensing for servers and network infrastructure, including usage and compliance reporting.

  • Contribute to contract deliverables and documentation in accordance with program requirements.

  • Maintain strict adherence to internal Configuration and Data Management policies and industry standards.

• Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience using Product Data Management (PDM) systems such as Windchill.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of MIL-HDBK-61, DoD Configuration Management standards, and industry best practices.

  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a demonstrated willingness to learn.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Product Data Management (PDM) applications (Windchill).
• Minimum 2 years of experience with MS Office Suite applications.

Preferred Skills:

• Excellent knowledge of MIL-HDBK-61, DoD standards, and Configuration Management practices.
• Good attention to detail and willingness to learn.
