Dr. Joseph Palamar is seeking hourly recruiters for his epidemiology studies examining self-reported drug use among nightclub and dance festival attendees. The studies are funded by the National Institute of Drug Abuse.
The ideal candidates are committed, highly motivated individuals who can work effectively, independently, and in small teams. A bachelors degree is preferred, and students enrolled at NYU are encouraged to apply. The candidates will serve as recruiters who will survey individuals about to enter nightclubs and electronic dance music (EDM) dance festivals typically late at night. • Approach individuals near college campuses and briefly determine eligibility and interest in participation in the study.
  • Oversee administration of the survey (conducted via tablet) and pay participants.
  • If the participant volunteers to provide a saliva sample (to be analyzed at a later date), assist in the collection, labeling, and tracking of the sample.
  • Track recruitment, data collection progress, and participant payments using spreadsheets.
  • Attend short periodic team meetings to discuss progress.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Associate's degree plus one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer literate with good interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
