Posting Summary
The Temporary Research Assistant will work under the supervision of Dr. Ellen Francis in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at School of Public Health ( SPH). The Assistant will assist Dr. Francis with research projects addressing metabolic conditions in pregnancy and implications for poor health outcomes across both the pregnant individuals' and their offspring's lifecourse. The Assistant's primary responsibility will be to lead data management and analysis for ongoing research projects and prepare manuscripts and grant applications. The data for analysis are existing and were obtained from pregnancy cohorts with extensive phenotyping including metabolomics, environmental exposures, and long-term follow up of women and their children. If appropriate, the Research Assistant will be encouraged to develop their own independent research program and apply for independent funding. Potential topic areas include sex-differences in metabolomic biomarkers of cardiometabolic risk, placental function and later offspring health, and metabolomic profiles of lifestyle factors.
The Assistant's day-to-day work will include database management, statistical analysis, manuscript writing, and mentorship of students/trainees. There will be opportunities for authorship on publications, presentation at local and national conferences, and collaboration on grant proposal development.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in Epidemiology or related quantitative discipline, including but not limited to Biostatistics, Statistics, Health Services Research, or Health Outcomes/Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research.
