This position will conduct the uplift for the Latin America (LATAM) Operations Management (PSM) Risk Management (ORM) transformation project.

This is a Fixed-Term - 12 month Contract position

What You'll Do

The function of this role is to conduct the expected uplift for the Latin America (Latam) Operations Risk Management (ORM) transformation project. The role will provide support across regional network of operations whilst supporting sites in effectively managing Process Safety risks in accordance with DNLs Global Risk Framework.

  • Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety. (Ensure SAO, JSA, Take 5's, stretching, and all safety rules are being completed.)
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.
  • Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values.
  • Supports BEx initiatives and ensures participation from all areas of responsibility
  • Drive the technical compliance within the Operations Risk Transformation program in adherence to plan including the medium and long term actions.

  • Support the continuous improvement of the Global HSEC Management System to ensure the systems are standardized and embedded across Latin America sites.

  • Providing Process Safety Management coaching to Operational Line Leaders.

  • Perform Process Safety Management performance monitoring and reporting to highlight 'target areas' for improvement.

  • Ensure compliance to the Global HSEC Management System and local legislation.

  • Drive the safety culture at regional sites to support the Zero Harm Value.

  • Provide timely advice to Regional Leadership on Process Safety Management related events and programs.

  • Provide input into the development of Group and Business Unit Zero Harm plan

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
  • Professional Engineer designation considered an asset
  • Post graduate vocational training in Process Safety, Risk Assessment, hazard studies/risk assessment - HAZOP/HAZID/LOPA.
  • 10+ years process safety experience in a complex manufacturing environment within the Chemicals Industry (or similar)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
  • Good knowledge of industry best practices with regards to Process Safety Management Systems from the Centre for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) and/or the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE).
  • Good knowledge of Risk Management, including the application of ISO 31000.
  • Good knowledge of regional standards and legislation, including OSHA PSM.
  • Facilitation of hazard studies and risk assessment (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA and bow-tie analysis).
  • Leadership and coaching of Process Safety and Risk Management.
