What we need

The senior editor will ensure the company's communications are relevant, engaging, factual and aligned with business objectives, in collaboration with a team of communications strategists. The senior editor also will collaborate with writers and designers to ideate, assign, project manage and write content for multiple channels, including the company's intranet, its flagship Newsline publication, videos and its external news site, Coverage. The senior editor will report to the Vice President of Corporate Communications and will be based in the company's Boston headquarters.

Your Day to Day:

  • Review and edit copy to ensure accuracy, relevance and readability. Work with writers, subject matter experts and leaders to verify facts, resolve issues and troubleshoot roadblocks. Provide final review of all content prior to publishing.
  • Write and produce excellent multimedia content for internal and external use.
  • Work closely with colleagues in functional business areas across the organization to ensure content consistently meets company standards and advances business goals.
  • Contribute to communication efforts during crisis situations, providing timely and accurate information to stakeholders
  • Provide senior leaders with messaging and other support for internal events.
  • Develop and execute communication plans to keep employees informed about company updates, initiatives, and strategic direction
  • Manage content calendars and distribution across multiple channels.
  • Maintain standards and best practices for story ideation, assignment, editing and approval.
  • Generate reports to present engagement insights to senior leadership

We're Looking for:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an editor and/or writer required
  • Experience writing or editing health care content preferred
  • Familiarity with Smart Brevity principles and practices preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities.
  • Understanding of digital communication platforms and analytics.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
  • Outstanding collaboration skills required.

This position is eligible for the Flex persona, with in office expectations for local candidates 2 days per week. This may change depending on business needs.

Minimum Education Requirements:

High school degree or equivalent required unless otherwise noted above

LocationBoston Time TypeFull time Salary Range: $113,400.00 - $124,740.00

The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.

This job is also eligible for variable pay.
