Summary:

This Senior General Ledger Accountant role plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role involves recording and ensuring accuracy of general ledger entries, reconciling accounts, leading month-end close procedures, and assisting in preparation of financial reports and analysis. This role requires integrity, confidentiality, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure journal entries are recorded accurately and maintain the general ledger in compliance with accounting standards
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of various general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving variances
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial transaction recording
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, adjustments, and financial statement preparation
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Support budgeting and forecasting efforts by leveraging historical data and financial insights
  • Develop and refine accounting policies and procedures to enhance clarity, efficiency, and firmwide compliance
  • Stay current with accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and accurate financial reporting
  • Enhance and streamline accounting processes to improve efficiency in financial reporting
  • Provide support across accounting functions as needed


Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years of accounting and reporting experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Experience in professional services environment is a plus
  • CPA is a plus
  • Inter-company and multi-currency accounting experience is a plus
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles, standards, and GAAP best practices, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Expertise in month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot discrepancies and implement solutions effectively
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial findings
  • Proficiency in various accounting and financial software applications, including but not limited to Sage Intacct, Iris Star, Salesforce, and Power BI
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel for financial modeling, data analysis, and automation
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliations
  • Ability to establish and maintain accurate records
  • Proactive mindset, identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
  • Strong ability to meet deadlines, demonstrating exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply business and accounting laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with financial policies
  • Effective collaboration across all levels of employees and management, providing excellent client service for internal stakeholders
  • Strong desire to continuously learn, develop self and others, fostering professional growth and knowledge-sharing
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with efficiency

Compensation Range: $50,000.00 - $90,000.00*
