Description

The Communications Specialist (CS)will assist in the
production and distribution of electronic and printed external communications
and training materials for the DMH + PMHP Public Mental Health Partnership
(PMHP). The CS will be responsible for planning and working with the training
team and designers to create information sheets, training handouts, external
communications, and outreach materials for a variety of projects and
coordinating their submission to the PMHP Media Director for edits and approval.
A large portion of the time will be spend creating and editing short- and
long-form video content (trainings). Under the direction of the PMHP Media
Director, the CS will also develop and monitor production timelines, coordinate
delivery with vendors, track purchase orders and invoices, and monitor
inventory of requested materials in coordination with PMHP administrative team.
The CS will contribute content for external communications, social media posts,
blogs, and newsletters, and prepare them for distribution. Other duties include
providing technical support for content management of related websites and
learning management platforms, assisting with the filming/post-production of
events and seminars, preparing presentations and reports, overseeing the inventory
and ordering of promotional materials, and curating content on related websites
and online learning center.

Pay Range:The salary to be offered will be determined based
on various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience,
and equity. The full salary range for this position is$72,200 - $158,800
annually. The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to
pay for this position is about $76,200 - $81,000 annually.

Qualifications
Required:


  • Demonstrated experience developing and editing digital media and generating print content
  • Demonstrated experience editing short- and long-form video content
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Skill in keeping accurate records
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Skill in developing rapport with individuals from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds
  • Knowledge of website and online learning center programming tools including, but not limited to, WordPress
  • Demonstrated ability to manage print and production orders and invoices and interact with various vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to use social media for external communications and other external communications systems, such as SendGrid or Constant Contact
  • Ability to work effectively and closely as part of a team effort
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct resourceful problem solving
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Must have reliable transportation to allow for travel and transportation of film equipment throughout Los Angeles County


Preferred:

  • BS/BA in Communications, Film, Design, or related field (Strongly preferred)
  • Graphic design experience, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or other (Strongly preferred)
  • Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similar editing software (Strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with video and audio equipment and their setup
