The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry has an opening for a temp casual worker in the research lab of Dr. Kim Mansky.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• This is a computational and laboratory-based work study position focus on contributing to biomedical research efforts of a research group focused on the study of bone resorbing cells, the osteoclasts.
• The temp casual worker will assist in projects aimed at determining changes in gene expression in osteoclasts from mice with periodontal disease
• The student will be trained to perform genotyping of mice using PCR, quantitative RT-PCR, isolation of RNA and cell culture

Job Duties:

• Conduct assigned qRT-PCR, genotyping, isolation of RNA and cell culture, 75%
• Help with lab maintenance and organization, 25%

REQUIRED:

• Experience working in a research lab with osteoclasts
• Experience with osteoclast cell culture, qRT-PCR, and mouse genotyping
