Job Summary

The Senior Technology Consultant supports our Purpose by identifying technical solutions to test and improve the Passenger experience using inflight connectivity through the onboard WiFi platform. This role collaborates with various workgroups throughout the Company, including Customer Experience and Technical Operations, to run, manage, and monitor the passenger and crew experience with independent monitoring.The Senior Technology Consultant is a strategic thinker and skilled communicator who is excited about the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a product that has the potential to touch every Southwest Passenger.
This Dallas-based role is offered as a remote workplace position, which may require onsite presence / travel fortrainings, meetings, conferences, etc. Outside of those required visits, the majority of your working time may be spent in an approved remote location within the Dallas - Fort Worth area.

Responsibilities
- Identify new ways to create value through business process improvements and technology enhancements proactively
- Translate Customer needs through deep understanding of Customer priorities, value drivers, and challenges
- Drive solutions within a Team/group without being a subject matter expert
- Complete assigned and project tasks with minimal direction
- Partner with Senior Leadership across the Company to lead various activities required in the ongoing development and delivery of strategic initiatives
- Analyze impact of problems, facilitate resolutions, and escalate to Leadership as needed
- Anticipate large-scale, complex challenges within domain; including risk, dependencies, timelines, scope, etc.
- Identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing Customer and personal services, including Customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of Customer satisfaction
- Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
- Skilled in talking to others to convey information effectively
- Ability to communicate information and ideas verbally or written so others will understand
- Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, which does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem
- Skilled in Confluence, Oracle Primavera Enterprise Project Portfolio Management, Atlassian JIRA, or similar tools
- Skilled in IBM Cognos Impromptu, Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services SSAS, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, Tableau, or similar tools
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Business, Technology, Finance, or related field
Experience
- Required: Expert-level experience, expansive and far reaching knowledge in:
- solving complex problems and driving multiple stakeholders towards implementable solutions
- leading programs that can span multiple work groups and/or departments
- Preferred:
- Experience in Network Design, Architecture and Monitoring
- Satellite and Cellular related connectivity experience
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits Competitive market salary from $134,750 per year to $149,700 per year* depending on qualifications and experience.
