Position Summary

The QC Specialist is responsible for the overall process and execution of quality control operations in the organization. This individual will be responsible for investigation of field complaints and production rejects, along with evolving our incoming and outgoing QC processes and perform critical-to-quality inspections. The QC Specialist will have extensive knowledge of measurement techniques and GD&T and/or IPC-A-610 concepts, as well as being a strong problem solver. This individual will be self-starting, with a strong desire to succeed, and collaborate and grow with others in the organization. The candidate will demonstrate passion and rigor to learn, improve processes, and communicate cross functionally within the organization, with frequent interactions with R&D, Manufacturing and production teams.

Key Responsibilities



  • Ability to work in a high pace, changing environment
  • Ability to escalate and influence cross-functionally
  • Perform initial testing and investigation of field complaints and production rejects
  • Regularly support disposition of MRB inventory to minimize accrual
  • Ability to operate inspection equipment, i.e. high magnification microscope, micrometers, height gage, calipers, comparator, CMM, optical measurement tool, etc.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, good understanding of GD&T concepts is desired
  • IPC-A-610 certification is desired for PCBA workmanship inspection and qualification
  • Collect and analyze data to predict trends that will affect the improvement of product quality
  • Develop and deliver QC reports, including first article, incoming and outgoing inspection reports


Required Education and Experience:



  • Associates degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or similar work experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment preferred


Qualifications:



  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to solve highly complex problems by leveraging mechanical and electrical disciplines
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel and manufacturing test applications
  • Knowledge of GD&T and/or IPC-A-610 standards
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 certified environment
  • Experience supporting customer/supplier qualification requirements
  • Demonstrate the ability to show initiative and commitment to the company's goals as well as readily adapt to changing requirements
  • Able to work from specifications, technical manuals, schematics, and verbal/written instructions
