SBA Business Development Officer

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and/or education, and location. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus.

SUMMARY

Sells SBA financing products to prospective/existing clients. Work closely with Citizen Business Bank associates from the Centers and other Departments to identify SBA financing cross-sell opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

• Complies with and stays abreast of all policies and procedures, federal and state laws applicable to the job.

• Identifies business opportunities and prospective clients through a variety of sources, including: CBB Associate referrals, CBB Business Financial Centers, business and telephone directories, referrals from COI's and cold calling. Formulates and develops a business development plan and calling schedule for prospective clients.
• Calls on prospects to explain features of services, cost, and advantages of the Bank's SBA, Specialty Market and deposit products. Discusses financial opportunities and general business conditions. Coordinates and arranges subsequent visits by Bank product specialists, as needed, to enhance and cross sell the relationship.

• Develops packages for underwriting to complete analysis and approval. Prepares preliminary financial business spreads for presentation to credit authority.

• Provide, present and promote The Citizens Experience to all external and internal customers.

• Meeting with Center assocaites and their clients to assess needs, prequalify and market SBA products. Gather a complete package for credit review and assist in answering question and obtaining additional documentation.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Excel and Word software and general operation of computers.

Must have a current driver's license and the ability to travel 75% of the time.

Salary Range:$68,640.00 To $87,896.00 Annually
