Job Summary

The Senior Network Engineer, working under minimal supervision, is responsible for designing, installing, and supporting the Westfield Enterprise Data Network. This includes all routing and switching, wireless networking, internet connectivity, firewalls, VPNs, SD-WAN, and carrier circuits.

This role also performs network maintenance and system upgrades, including the application of service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations throughout the lifecycle of all network assets.

The ideal candidate is a continuous learner with a broad understanding of enterprise networking. They should have experience configuring switches and firewalls, a foundational understanding of BGP, and the ability to automate solutions using languages such as Python and PowerShell. Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible and/or Terraform is preferred. The candidate should also be capable of deploying network solutions in both Azure and AWS environments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plans, implements, and supports enterprise-wide data communication networks and systems.
  • Monitors and manages the health of network infrastructure to ensure maximum availability, performing proactive maintenance and upgrades throughout the lifecycle of network assets.
  • Implements and maintains security baselines, applies patches, and ensures currency for all network components throughout their operational lifecycle.
  • Enforces system and data security through the implementation of controls and logging mechanisms, ensuring compliance with the company's Information Security Policies.
  • Leads collaboration with software engineers to develop network automation tools, while creating and maintaining detailed documentation of network designs and topologies.
  • Develops, maintains, and updates standards, policies, and procedures related to the management, maintenance, recovery, and utilization of services provided by the Datacom team.
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams to design scalable network architectures and contribute to the development of policy recommendations.
  • Maintains accurate inventory of all network assets and ensures the management of service agreements for communication equipment and carrier circuits.
  • Contributes to enterprise-scale projects by translating business requirements into technical designs that align with strategic objectives.
  • Performs troubleshooting and root cause analysis of network incidents, implementing effective solutions to resolve issues across the organization.

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Network Administration or Engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in Networking, Information Technology, or a related field, and/or equivalent professional experience.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Location
