Export Compliance Officer (Multi site FCO)
Job Description

Schedule: Monday - Friday

MISSION:

This position is a key member of the compliance team for the Carson City and San Leandro sites. The Export Compliance Officer will act as the Facility Compliance Officer (FCO) for both sites and will work closely with the current FCOs and Assistant Facility Compliance Officers (AFCOs) at each location. This individual will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust trade compliance programs that meet export regulatory requirements while supporting the day-to-day operational needs of the business.

The role will also serve as a key point of contact for the Division Compliance Manager (DCM). The position will require approximately 50% of the time to be spent in Carson City, NV, and 50% in San Leandro, CA. This position will sit at the Carson City site.

The successful candidate will have the independent authority to inquire into any aspect of a proposed transaction to verify its accuracy and propriety and to stop any transaction that is in violation of statutory or regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enhance and maintain the export compliance programs at both sites.
  • Collaborate with the Division Compliance Manager and outside counsel as needed.
  • Assist with the preparation, review, and oversight of hardware and technical data export license applications.
  • Administer export compliance training to plant personnel.
  • Investigate compliance issues as necessary.
  • Conduct ongoing internal transactional audits and assist with annual export compliance audits.
  • Collaborate with FCOs and AFCOs to obtain and maintain customer-supplied End Use Statements and Product Jurisdiction & Classifications.
  • Perform continuous review of customer purchase orders related to export shipments for licensing and general compliance.
  • Review export shipment documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor program successes and identify areas for improvement in conjunction with FCOs and AFCOs.
  • Work with management to perform audits related to compliance with company policies and/or government regulations.
  • Notify supervisor when workload is low.
  • Assist other departments with administrative tasks when workload is low.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or
  • High school diploma with 3+ years of relevant experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Work will vary between sitting for extended periods (e.g., performing audits or administrative tasks) and standing for prolonged periods (e.g., inspecting parts or participating in facility walk-throughs).
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle documents, inspect small parts, or use office and inspection tools effectively.
  • May require bending, reaching, or occasional climbing of stairs or ladders to access various work areas.
  • Ability to move between office, production, and shipping/receiving areas as needed.

COMPENSATION:

Compensation for this position is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and market competitiveness. Final pay will be discussed during the interview process and may include eligibility for bonuses or other incentive programs, depending on company policy and role expectations.

  • FCO 1 - $41,600 - $62,400
  • FCO 2 - $67,000 - $100,000
