Job Summary:

The Director of Human Resources will responsible for overseeing administration of the Human Resources department, developing and implementing recruiting and compliance initiatives, planning and administering benefit offerings and assisting in meeting the Company's strategic objectives.

Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Review and make recommendations to senior management for improvement of the Company's policies and procedures as it relates to the scope of human resources
  • Supervise the work of HR personnel and provide guidance
  • Provide consultation to department heads and service center managers on staffing plans and labor relations
  • Ensure that the HR department provides superior customer service to all Company associates
  • Respond to employee complaints, conduct corresponding workplace investigations and provide adjudication/recommendation.
  • Consult with General Counsel and/or VP of Human Resources as it relates to personnel, compliance, and legal matters
  • Annually evaluate the company's recruiting strategies, including the Affirmative Action Plan, and assist in ensuring the service centers and corporate office are appropriately staffed for peak season.
  • Evaluate company benefit plans annually, coordinate with vendors for appropriate administration, ensure compliance for all plans
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and federal/state labor laws. Communicate changes in policies to managers and ensure proper compliance is followed
  • Ensure all EEO/DOL/BLS filings are completed by HR staff in timely manner
  • Complete special projects by identifying needs and priorities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, company software
  • Interpersonal communication and conflict resolution
  • Organizational skills and ability to multitask and/or delegate
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Thorough knowledge of labor laws and HR practices

Required Education and Experience:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in relevant field and five or more years of related experience
  • Preferred: PHR or SHRM-CP Certification
  • Preferred: Prior experience in a federal contractor organization

Working Conditions:

  • Indoors
  • Office Environment
  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Frequent use of telephone
  • Occasional travel may be required
