Maintenance Lead

The Maintenance Lead provides leadership to the maintenance team while actively participating in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs throughout the facility. This position serves as a crucial link between maintenance technicians and management, ensuring efficient operations, coordinating maintenance activities, and maintaining equipment reliability. The role requires both technical expertise and leadership skills to manage team performance, maintain safety standards, and optimize maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance work requests, assigning appropriate technicians while ensuring efficient resource allocation

  • Lead daily shift meetings to communicate equipment status, repairs, and maintenance priorities to team members

  • Oversee preventive maintenance program execution, including scheduling, assignment, and completion verification

  • Coordinate maintenance technicians, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, company policies, and good manufacturing practices

  • Collaborate with vendors, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve complex maintenance issues and implement improvements

  • Coordinate repairs with external vendors, and ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities

  • Provide technical support for equipment breakdowns, including hands-on troubleshooting and repair assistance

  • assist with maintenance training programs documenting OJT hours and monitoring trainee progress

  • Coordinate overtime projects with Maintenance Manager

  • Manage communication between maintenance department and production teams regarding equipment status and repair timelines

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED or 5 years of relevant experience preferred

  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs a plus

Required Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems

  • PLC, drives, and industrial control systems expertise

  • Blueprint and schematic reading proficiency

  • Leadership and supervisory experience

  • Vendor management experience

  • Computer proficiency

  • Strong troubleshooting abilities

  • Ability to obtain Forklift and high-lift certification

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

  • Strong Decision Making

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age

  • Must pass pre-employment assessment

  • Drug screening required

  • Background check required

  • Must maintain good working relationships with Quality Technicians

  • Active participation in Safety and Continuous Improvement programs
