Job Description:

Position Summary

The Head of People, Property & Performance leads key internal functions including HR, facilities, internal communications, information management, and corporate events. This role ensures operational efficiency, compliance, and alignment with strategic goals through strong administrative oversight, performance tracking, and cross-departmental coordination. The Title may be VP or Senior Director, based on experience.

Reporting to the CEO, this leader manages administrative budgets and assets, oversees company-wide initiatives to improve productivity, and supports organizational growth. The role also guides internal and external communications, ensures smooth departmental collaboration, and uses performance metrics and benchmarks to drive informed decisions.

Responsibilities

Administrative Oversight and Internal Communications/Information Management

  • Manage certain non-revenue-generating departments (e.g., HR, facilities, insurance, internal communications, information management, corporate website, and social media activities)

  • Ensure company policies and procedures are effectively implemented across departments

  • Identify inefficiencies and implement systems to improve workflows, reduce costs, and increase productivity

  • Promote digital transformation and modernization of administrative processes and organizational growth

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Work closely with the CEO & Senior Leader Team to align administrative operations with strategic goals

  • Lead organizational planning and monitor execution of administrative initiatives

  • Identify inefficiencies and implement systems to improve workflows, reduce costs, and increase productivity

  • Ensure the organization complies with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies

  • Lead risk assessments for administrative functions

  • Oversee cross departmental strategic initiatives

People Management:

  • Manage HR Department including, but not limited to:

    • Benefits Programs

    • Performance Goal Setting and Tracking

    • Compensation Analytics

    • Recruiting & Internship program

    • Training & Development

    • Payroll

  • Manage Internal Information Management, Communications, Website and Social Media

    • Oversee internal communications team and content including, but not limited to: Webinars/Podcasts/Lunch & Learns/Staff memos

    • Oversee and manage state of the art Corporate Website and partner with CCO on branding and client interface

    • Oversee and manage internal information management, including Deriva Sharepoint and departmental pages

    • Partner with Head of IT on Corporate AI strategy design, implementation and training to ensure high staff utilization

  • Manage Internal Corporate Events & Compilation of Corporate Materials

    • Risk Management meetings (and RM template deck delivery)

    • Board meetings (and Board deck delivery)

    • Quarterly Directors meeting (and Directors' meeting deck delivery)

    • Quarterly All-Hands meeting (and All-Hands deck delivery)

Property/Asset Efficiency:

  • Develop and manage administrative budgets

  • Ensure fiscal responsibility within support all support departments

  • Deriva Property Management - offices, buildings, vehicles, etc. (leases, insurance, strategy)

  • Management and oversight of shared resources - subscriptions, memberships, etc.

Performance Metrics:

  • Monitor performance metrics and generate reports for executive leadership and Board meetings

  • Use data to drive decisions and policy development.

  • Corporate Metrics

    • Aggregate, Track & Modify on behalf of senior management corporate performance metrics across all departments

  • Industry Benchmarking

    • Create, Track & Modify on behalf of senior management a robust set of industry benchmarks across all departments

  • Interdepartmental Coordination

    • Serve as a liaison between different departments to ensure smooth communication and collaboration.

    • Resolve operational conflicts and ensure alignment

Required/Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degreeAND 10 years or more of related work experience

  • In lieu of bachelor's degree, high school diploma/GED AND 15 years or more years of related work experience

Qualifications & Experience

  • Seven (7) or more years of experience as senior executive with experience in in strategic operations, management consulting, investment banking, or a senior leadership role in a high-growth company.

  • Experience in the renewable energy, private equity, infrastructure, or related industry is highly preferred.

  • Must be innovative, detail-oriented, experienced in managing highly visible projects.

  • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of corporate strategy, operations, and financial analysis.

  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills with the ability to drive multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to manage the develop of executive-level content.

  • Strong leadership presence, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

  • Proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and performance tracking tools is a plus.
