Great Hillis seeking aTier 2 Enterprise Operations Engineer in Washington, D.C. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Tier 2 troubleshooting and support for a virtual infrastructure using VMware. Additionally, the candidate will provide operations support for physical devices and cabling within a data center. Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- SHIFT: Tuesday - Saturday 3:00PM - 11:30PM
- Provide Tier 2 Incident Management triage, troubleshooting, and resolution for virtual infrastructure using VMware vSphere, vCenter, and various technologies.
- Fulfill Tier 2Service Requests, including Virtual Machine builds, decommissions, and changes to resources.
- Provide technical customer communication and interface.
- Maintain and support physical devices and cabling within a data center, including servers, switches, routers, firewalls, and storage systems.
- Install and configure physical devices and cabling within a data center.
- Monitor IT infrastructure through prescribed tools and continuously ensure systems monitoring tools are configured to ensure comprehensive system state awareness
- Utilize IT Service Management (ITSM) tools, including ServiceNow, to execute Tier 2Service Request Management, Incident Management, and Problem Management processes
- Participate in other ITIL process areas such as configuration management, change management, release management, service-level management, availability management, capacity management, service continuity management, information security management.
- Work collaboratively with other teams to resolve complex issues.
- Continuously improve operational processes and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with security and operational policies.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related fieldor equivalent experience.
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
- 2-4 years of experience with VMware vSphere and/or vCenter.
- Experience with enterprise-level environments.
- Experience with enterprise storage solutions.
- Willingness and ability to perform duties on-site in Beltsville, MD.
