Join our team as a Site EHS Specialist, where you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining a safe and environmentally compliant work environment. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying local organizational EHS needs and ensuring the effective implementation of EHS programs and procedures. Working under the general direction of the local EHS Manager or senior operations management, you will take personal responsibility for your outputs, knowing when to escalate issues to higher levels within the organization.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing technical work related to regulatory requirements, participating in assessments and audits for compliance, and monitoring site-specific procedures to support environmental, health, and safety compliance. You will also develop your skills and knowledge in EHS regulatory requirements, ensuring seamless integration into your job duties. Furthermore, you will be tasked with maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs, tracking critical audits, permits, and associated activities.

Data collection and performance measurement will be a significant part of your role, providing valuable insights through metrics scorecards and timely reports to management. You will participate in root cause analysis and monitor corrective actions on significant EHS-related incidents, maintaining OSHA 300 Log and submitting injury data monthly to the Corporate EHS Department. Collaboration with internal and cross-functional partners will be essential, as will supporting and implementing team member training and education programs related to EHS compliance and incident prevention.

As a Site EHS Specialist, you will engage in the Management of Change review process, Pre-Start Safety Reviews, and maintain SDS documents and hazardous material inventories. You will conduct site inspections of contractor construction activities, coordinate with project managers, and participate in programs to obtain or maintain third-party certifications. Additionally, you will perform fundamental environmental and industrial hygiene monitoring as directed by the EHS Manager or specialists in these fields. What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or state-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of EHS experience or comparable military experience. Or Bachelor of Science degree plus 2 years of EHS experience, OMDP experience or comparable military experience. Or Bachelor of Science EHS (Accredited EHS program). Or Master's degree and 4 years of EHS experience.
  • Skilled in developing clear written communications, procedures, and work instructions. Ability to present information effectively to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to source, read and understand, EHS regulations as published by government agencies and applicable to site functions.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $68,040 - $102,060 / year
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
