Overview

Responsible for drafting, creating and issuing project specific purchase orders and subcontracts upon receipt of approved requisitions. Communicates with vendors and internal stakeholders on the development of contract documents as assigned, including discrepancies from the requisition and redlines the vendor might have. Follows established processes and systems utilized by the company to perform procurement related tasks and functions. Works collaboratively across the organization and actively supports the Company's values and beliefs.

Responsibilities

    Create purchase orders, subcontracts or Master Service Agreement (MSA) work orders in accordance with established policy (including compliance requirements) and terms and conditions on projects as assigned by Procurement leadership
  • Review and confirm accuracy and validity of requisition information and contract details prior to processing requisition
  • Seek assistance for issues related to contract requisitions and communicates with vendors appropriately
  • Utilize company master agreements in the creation of applicable contracts
  • Consult with Procurement leadership and/or Legal in the event an override of standard Terms & Conditions is requested
  • Communicate with commercial services, legal, permitting and insurance to ensure vendor requirements are captured in contracts
  • Follow company guidelines related to contract creation and approvals
  • Track purchase order and change order completion through all approval and execution stages to ensure it is invoiceable and interfaced with accounting
  • Support gathering of data related to procurement key performance indicators
  • Enter and maintain all pertinent data in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and project management platforms
  • Communicate with procurement coordinators on required information related to project specific contracts
  • Communicate purchase order or subcontract information to accounting for receiving report verification and to support processing of necessary payables
  • Support project closeout through administrative and purchase order completion
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Qualifications

Buyer I:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or construction management preferred
  • Previous experience in procurement or business-related field preferred

Buyer II:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field, or combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement (preferably within engineering or construction industries)
  • Preferred experience with renewables materials buying

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the company's Zero Injury principles
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite, especially Excel
  • Experience using industry specific software and data mining from ERP software
  • Good understanding of terms and nomenclature used in the construction industry
  • Experience in developing procedures and standards related to procurement life cycle processes.
  • Excellent collaboration abilities and strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels within the organization and with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
