Who we are looking for: We are currently searching for a Manufacturing Shift Lead to be based out of Kokomo, IN reporting to the Production Supervisor. This person will be responsible for assigning production employees daily work orders and maintaining the floor order entry while being the floor's first point of contact for production needs. What you'll do:
- Responsible to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with a company mission statement, core values, and other standards of conduct
- Identify and initiate Low Severity No Impact (LSNI) safety corrective actions
- Train, and develop crew members
- Assist operators in daily tasks as necessary to achieve daily targets
- Able to assist in changeovers, quality checks and start-ups on all products
- Basic maintenance knowledge, complete the hour-by hour boards, ensure 5s and housekeeping are maintained during shift.
- Back-up to production supervisor for the organization of floor order assignments
- Print production orders, labels, and tag printing
- Assist team members with technical issues and troubleshooting
- Prepare for production shift and ensure proper metrics are met
- Work with production control supervisor and production supervisors to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills needed to complete daily tasks
- Accurately track and log production into floor order entry
- Ensure all operating procedures and PPE requirements are being followed
- Perform daily audits on production paperwork accuracy including responsibility for corrections and addressing errors with operators
- Participate in problem-solving with run rate achievements
- Standard work training, 5S, lean sustainment, and problem-solving
- Conduct product cycle counts and production paperwork training
- Support and actively participate in the continuous improvement
- Track and analyze data and implement changes for improving plant operations
- Participate in Lean Daily Manufacturing and 5S activities and promotes the plant Lean culture

What you'll bring:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous supervisory or management experience is required
- Microsoft Office skills to include advanced Excel
- Experience in steel manufacturing is strongly preferred, JDE experience is a plus
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Possess excellent detail accuracy and organization skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints/shop drawings
- Forklift experience is strongly preferred

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $25.11 to $27.91/hr. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
