Job Description
Role Overview At the local level, plan, organize and direct the administration of all Amcor Rigid Packaging Solutions human resources policies, procedures and programs regarding talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, training and development, EEO, health and safety, labor relations, strategic workforce planning, and employee relations necessary to carry out company and plant objectives. Provide guidance to Plant Manager, functional managers and supervisors in the interpretation and application of established human resources policies to create a climate of trust and open communication. Ensure full compliance with all relevant federal and state laws and governmental regulations. Your Role in Unpacking Possibilities
- Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures for all plant employees
- Strategic Workforce Planning: Work closely with management team to maintain a skilled workforce while supporting headcount requirements (headcount budget to include temporary associates).
- Compensation: Assist in development compensation programs that are fair and equitable (job evaluation; wage and hour regulations; participate in local and regional wage surveys). Includes review and recommend merit increases/promotions to ensure equity and consistency.
- Learning and Development: Assist management in succession and training planning and recommend appropriate development (level program; technical training; leadership training) and support management in performance review process (deadlines and reviews)
- Benefits: Assist in the administration of benefits programs and/or provide assistance with concerns for medical; dental; vision; EAP; life insurance; 401k, short term disability; long term disability.
- Talent Acquisition: Oversee the evaluation, classification and rating of occupations and job positions, and identify staff vacancies and recruit, interview and select applicants.
- Employee Relations: Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, underperforming, refereeing disputes, conducting investigations, releasing employees, ethical and legal compliance, and administering disciplinary procedures. Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
- Timekeeping: Responsible for accurate processing of payroll. Audit time records and resolves any discrepancies; maintains payroll records/reports.
- Record Retention: Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Maintains company organization charts and employee directory.
- Employee Engagement: Assist in coordinating employee engagement surveys. Ensure appropriate action plans are developed and implemented and conduct employee feedback meetings. Maintain open communication with all employees to obtain an accurate sense of employee morale.
- Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices
- Develop and maintain plant job descriptions, maintain training matrix and training files ensuring compliance with annual training and audits.
- Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, labor relations, and employee relations.
- Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems.
- Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Manages team of direct reports and is responsible for employee selection, development, mentoring, and performance management. Responsible for overall talent management and employee engagement; cultivates an environment of safety, high performance, and ethical and legal compliance; addresses employee relations issues"

What We Want From You
- Education: Bachelor's DegreeHuman Resources or related field
- Nationally recognized Human Resources Certificate preferred (i.e. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, etc.) preferred
- Minimum Five years of experience in Manufacturing Human Resources
- Leadership experience preferred
- Knowledge of principles and procedures for talent acquisition, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and HR information systems.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently with little to no direct supervision.
- Ability to prioritize work; handle multiple tasks simultaneously; set goals and meet deadline while maintaining flexibility to reassess and prioritize goals.
- Demonstrate analytical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to deal with difficult individuals/situations while maintaining composure, using good judgment and fairness at all levels of the organization.
