We are seeking a versatile and strategic Portfolio Analyst to serve as a "Chief of Staff" or "Jack-of-All-Trades" within our Life Insurance business unit. This role operates at the portfolio level within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), supporting three Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and driving alignment across governance, intake, reporting, and financial management.
This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, excels at cross-functional collaboration, and is passionate about enabling teams to deliver high-value work efficiently. Key Responsibilities: 1. Portfolio Governance Support * Facilitate communication and decision-making between executive leadership and product teams. * Support the operating committee (VP-level) and portfolio-level prioritization efforts. * Manage meeting logistics, documentation, and information flow across governance layers. 2. Work Intake & Prioritization * Coordinate the intake of work from multiple sources (e.g., enhancements, bugs, infrastructure/security needs). * Assist in developing business cases, evaluating solution options, estimating effort, and identifying dependencies. * Help shepherd work through the intake process and prepare for 10-week PI (Program Increment) planning cycles. 3. Portfolio Reporting & Insights * Develop and maintain reporting on goals, KPIs, operational metrics (e.g., headcount, budget, ticket volume). * Simplify and automate reporting processes to ensure timely and actionable insights. * Distribute reports and provide trend analysis to support strategic decision-making. 4. Financial Management * Support budget planning and track actuals against forecasts. * Analyze financial impacts of portfolio decisions and provide insights on funding utilization. * Ensure alignment with approved budgets and strategic objectives. Required Skills & Qualifications: * Strong background in portfolio analysis, business analysis, and budgeting. * Experience in or understanding of the life insurance industry is highly desirable. * Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Agile portfolio management practices. * Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. * Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Location: * Sioux Falls, SD - Local candidates strongly preferred. * Remote candidates will be considered based on experience and fit. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
