North State Bank has an exciting opportunity for a Banker Loan Assistant in our Specialized Lending Group located on our corporate campus in Raleigh, NC. The Banker Loan Assistant for the Specialized Lending Group provides servicing support to the SLG team with good knowledge of commercial and consumer loans with the ability to review, prepare and coordinate loan closings; collect updated financial information and serve as the backup commercial loan portfolio manager as needed. Due to the nature of the role, it is full time in-office position. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists loan officer with new consumer, commercial, and participated loan requests by gathering initial documentation necessary to make loan decision, i.e. credit bureau reports, OFAC, lien searches, Secretary of State searches, tax notices, order appraisals evaluations, environmental assessments, title commitments, flood determinations, etc.
- Initiates and coordinates documents for loans, and packages for closings, making sure necessary documents are in order, delivered in a timely manner, and are complete and accurate for consumer, commercial, C2P and participated loan requests.
- Coordinates loan closings with bankers, customers, participating banks and vendors and be prepared to close loans. Follow-up with loan officer, closing attorney, customers, and/or participating banks on outstanding issues.
- Prepares and processes weekly draw requests including notifications to customers and participating banks.
- Prepare signed loan documents for booking, including filing or arranging for the filing of all collateral documents and disbursing funds.
- Assist with scanning of supporting and/or loan documentation into Synergy/nCino to include quality control review.
- Stays current on and adheres to lending regulations, Bank guidelines and policies, procedures and documentation requirements and be a knowledgeable resource to lenders.
- Assist Customer/Lender with regular portfolio and file maintenance, including quarterly financial information, insurance requests, collateral valuation updates, and clearing the credit and technical exceptions.
- Assist Customers, whether in person or over the phone, with loan servicing questions, portfolio maintenance and credits/debits to all accounts/loans as needed.
- Coordinates with office staff on new accounts, new products, services, maintenance and associated cash management services.
- Assists with basic financial spreads as needed.
- Assists with obtaining, tracking and maintaining financial requirements for necessary loan requests.
- Quote payoffs and process paid loans in a timely manner.
- Participates in special projects and assignments as needed.
Qualifications (Includes education, certifications, experience, etc.):
- An associate degree in business or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Three or more years of commercial loan support experience.
- Possesses thorough knowledge of lending regulations and procedures.
- Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and analytical.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with the Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
