The base salary range for the Director-Business Systems is $121,000 to 224,000. Actual salaries will vary by geographic location and are based on factors such as candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, competencies, and company tenure & equity. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance.

Director-Business Systems Overview

Directs and oversees multiple business systems, related teams and related projects supporting corporate initiatives. Coordinates optimum financial and organizational resources. Provides Partner and vendor management for applicable systems and initiatives. Directs the facilitation of support testing, and implementation of projects across business systems.

Essential Duties:


  • Manages tactical and high-level strategic priorities into project goals, objectives, and work plans designed to have a satisfactory outcome in the form of business systems that provide the necessary functionality, performance and accuracy to enable our employees and clients to be successful
  • Provide Partner and vendor management to ensure quality outcomes
  • Develop and manage project operational costs and budgets
  • Directs activities of support staff to include performance management, motivation, corrective action, competency development, and rewards and recognition
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Strong working knowledge of Life Insurance Business model
  • Strong working knowledge of Operations and IT functions
  • Strong working knowledge of project management practices and procedures
  • Strong analytically driven prioritization and decision-making skills
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills
  • Ability to balance strategic and tactical perspectives
  • Ability to translate high-level strategic priorities into project goals, objectives, and work plans
  • Ability to convey credibility and authority in dealing with both operations and sales
  • Ability to instill financial and managerial discipline

Required Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, related field, or equivalent related experience
  • 7+ or more years of related experience
  • 3-5 years of management experience
  • Or, equivalent military experience

Preferred Education and Experience:


  • Master's Degree
  • 1-2 years leading managers or multiple teams
  • Insurance industry experience
  • Knowledge of business practices as it relates to various areas

Working Conditions (Physical Demands):

Travel required 10% of the time

Normal, no adverse or hazardous conditions
