Salary Range: $95,000 - $125,000 Annually
Position Overview:
ABC Companies is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior HR Generalist to oversee human resources operations for our California and Colorado locations.
Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, this role plays a critical part in ensuring California employment law compliance and maintaining consistent HR practices across the organization. In addition to supporting Colorado and California-specific HR needs, this individual will be part of a larger Florida based HR department and may be asked to support other HR related tasks and duties outside of the primary location responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary HR contact for California and Colorado employees, managing employee relations, compliance, onboarding/offboarding, and day-to-day support.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and ensure compliance with California, Colorado and federal employment laws, including wage and hour laws, leave entitlements, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate on sensitive employment matters, investigations, accommodations, and regulatory inquiries.
- Provide guidance and training for California and Denver locations on any required or developmental plans outlined for managers and employees.
- Manage California and Colorado-specific HR vendors and ensure service agreements meet performance expectations and regulatory standards.
- Support the development and improvement of onboarding and compliance processes across California and Colorado locations.
- Assist and partner with the Director of Human Resources on workers' compensation and risk, helping to provide oversight on claims, reporting, return-to-work programs, and risk mitigation strategies.
Participate in policy development and help ensure consistent application of HR practices company wide.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including experience with California HR law
- In-depth knowledge of California labor regulations.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (HR certification preferred: SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting a multi-location or multi-state workforce.
- Experience with workers' compensation and risk management.
- Background in safety or OSHA compliance programs.
- Experience working with legal teams on employment-related issues.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
