Job Details New Hire Bonus for eligible candidates.The Medical Assistant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and performance of the medical assistant (MA) team within the ambulatory practice. This role includes staffing coordination, workflow optimization, training, and ensuring high-quality patient care. The Supervisor serves as a liaison between the MA team, nursing leadership, providers, and administrative staff to support clinical efficiency and patient experience. Responsibilities include: -Supervise and support a team of medical assistants, including onboarding, scheduling, and performance evaluations -Provide guidance and feedback to ensure adherence to clinical protocols and patient care standards. -Monitor daily operations and adjust staffing assignments to meet clinic demands. -Lead initial and ongoing medical assistant training on clinical procedures, workflows, and electronic health record (EHR) use. -Identify skills gaps and arrange additional education as needed to support professional growth and high performance. -Ensure compliance with infection control standards, regulatory guidelines, and institutional policies. -Serve as the primary point of contact for medical assistant related concerns and questions. -Facilitate communication between the MA team, providers, and clinical leadership. -Participate in staff meetings, workflow improvement projects, and clinic-wide initiatives. -Assist providers as they assess, examine and treat patients. -Manage patient flow -Assist with various diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections and vitals -Acts as liaison to providers to ensure patient satisfaction. Maintains and orders supplies for their area as needed. -Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson -Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures proper identification. -Performs and documents vital signs, clinical care quality measures and medical history information. -Remains proficient and knowledgeable regarding the use and documentation requirements within information technology systems within established scope of practice. -Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements. -Orders clinical supplies to maintain inventory and to facilitate smooth operations of the office. *Job Description Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: *Excellent communication and organizational skills. *Knowledge of medical terminology. *Familiarity with medical office procedures Education & Experience: *HS Diploma or equivalent required. *Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program. Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred. *Minimum of 3 years of experience as a medical assistant in an ambulatory or outpatient setting. Supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred. *BLS certification through the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire. BLS through the America Red Cross may be acceptable at some Pennsylvania practice locations. *Experience in physician office or other healthcare setting preferred. *Additional Job Description * oStrong leadership, organizational, and problem solving skills. oExcellent interpersonal and communication abilities. oProficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic) and Microsoft Office. oAbility to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
