Mechanical Engineering Analyst
Overview
The Mechanical Engineering Analyst is responsible for performing preliminary and detailed level analysis. These include structural, vibration & thermal analysis such that components, subassemblies and assemblies for Kearfott GND products meet internal and customer technical requirements. The Mechanical Engineering Analyst will work & interface with the other disciplines of the Engineering Department (Systems, Electrical, Test, Software) as well as Project Engineers, Program Managers, QA, Production and Supply Chain.
Responsibilities
Supports project team in the:
* Performance of FEA on complex electromechanical systems including thermal and stress analysis
* Documentation of and recommendations from FEA results to support peer and customer reviews
* Present analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Managers at design reviews
* Selection of materials with adequate structural margins of safety, optimal load paths, low weight, and high producibility
* Development of 3D and 2D mechanical components using SolidWorks CAD
* Development of 3D and 2D electromechanical assemblies using SolidWorks CAD
* Development of 3D and 2D electronic enclosures and electronics packaging
* Configuration management in SolidWorks PDM environment
* Works with cross-functional engineering team to ensure mechanical requirements are fully understood and implemented
Required Skills:
* BS in Mechanical Engineering required
* 5+ years of FEA experience
* Stress and thermal analysis using FEA techniques
* Experience using ANSYS for FEA strongly preferred
* Aerospace - Defense background preferred
* Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD and Microsoft Office
* Knowledge of configuration management of engineering documentation
* Knowledge of GD&T
* Familiarity with PDM document management environment preferred
* Strong communication abilities and interpersonal skills
* Team player
* Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey is $102,000 - $180,000 Annually. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, and internal consistency.
Additionally, we offer a medical, prescription, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, tuition assistance, paid vacation and sick days, paid holidays, and a 9/80 work week with every other Friday off.
