Sport Club Coach

POSITION SUMMARY: The Division of Student Life; Recreational Services is seeking a Sport Club Coach to provide coaching for the Men's Ice Hockey Club.

Duties to include:

• Evaluate and offer feedback to participants.
• Design and execute structured practices.
• Provide instruction to help sport club members learn new skills and/or improve existing skills.
• Support the club when engaging in competition.
• Be a positive example by creating social fellowship.
• Select roster and communicate roster decisions.

POSITION BASICS:

Hourly Rate/Range:$12,000-$15,000/season

WORK SCHEDULE:

Hours: Two 1-hour practices per week plus 20-30 weekend games

Shift:Varies based on type of Sports Club

Work Week: Tuesday and Thursday practices plus Work about 10-15 weekend series.

Season is September through March.

Additional Hours: As needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to use independent judgment as needed.
• Ability to interact with diverse groups through a variety of situations.
• Must be able to accommodate a variable work schedule that may include evenings, weekends travel.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a USA Hockey Coaching Education Program (CEP) Level 1
• Ability to complete a USA Hockey SafeSport Training
