Compensation

Salary Range: $40.90 - $61.64 / hour

The pay range above represents the lowest possible rate for the position and the highest possible rate. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range.

Pay for PRN positions is calculated differently than Full-Time, Regular Part-Time, and Part-Time positions. PRN Rates depend on the position and other factors, including years of experience, or shift commitment according to the department policy. PRN differential is added in certain positions.



Responsibilities

Position Overview:
Serving as a technical expert this position is responsible for all aspects of network and related technologies including technical design, planning, implementation, administration, and maintenance. Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership in order to provide a high level of service to both internal and external customers. Installs and maintain network hardware and software. Analyze and isolate issues. Monitor networks to ensure security and availability. This position is responsible for ensuring reliable network connectivity throughout the company's LAN/WAN infrastructure in accordance with best practices. The Network Administrator must be proficient in assigning routing protocols and routing table configurations.



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

    High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Four (4) years of experience in a related role
  • Experience with Cisco networking technologies
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus switches and Cisco UCS
  • Working knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Experience with packet capture and troubleshooting
  • Experience troubleshooting and implementing networking best practices
  • Experience with Firewalls (preferably Palo Alto)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certifications
  • Experience with MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching), BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), OSPF (Open Shortest Path First), EIGRP (Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol), STP (Spanning Tree Protocol), VTP (VLAN Trunking Protocol), and TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol)

  • Working knowledge of Cisco ASA firewalls and Palo Alto firewalls

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate and execute the overall architecture and design of LAN/WAN network.
  2. Manage and execute complex routing and switching tasks.
  3. Participate in security planning and incident response.
  4. Analyze and troubleshoot network issues.
  5. Maintains an awareness of current technology.
  6. Follows established departmental policies and procedures.
  7. Conducts job duties in accordance with departmental standards.
  8. Assists in implementing policies and procedures for the department operation.
  9. Demonstrates attitude of cooperation and professionalism.
  10. Exhibits a customer service focus in all relationships.
  11. Enhances professional growth through participation in educational programs, literature and workshops.
  12. Follows appropriate procedure for planning and arranging schedule changes, holidays and vacations.
  13. Participates in on call rotation.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.
