Group Manager - Operational Excellence

As a Group Manager within Operations, you will be responsible to drive global efficiencies within the New Product Delivery (NPD) process in console manufacturing. Working hand-in-hand with our global Manufacturing sites, you will deliver team development and upskilling, drive key areas of improvement, and fully implement best practices sharing to our Operations. Success requires a passion for manufacturing , ability to build and develop teams, as well as a solid understanding of all functions required to execute NPD successfully. This role will be responsible for governing multiple process lanes for approach, execution, and process improvements with the main focus around Manufacturing Engineering activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive change and implement new processes and systems needed to successfully introduce new products in a rapidly growing and changing business
  • Be a change agent driving improved communication and alignment between our corporate NPD teams and manufacturing sites, with an end goal of a concurrent engineering approach
  • Evaluate, propose, and implement improved manufacturing process planning to deliver consistent site readiness within our global NPD programs
  • Drive cultural improvement in PFMEA and Process Control Plans globally
  • Drive global improvements in DFMA process through consistent engagement, training, improved KPIs, and communicating our wins. Own, grow and develop and the DFMA process globally
  • Deliver step improvement in line design concepts and creation - 7 flows
  • Ensure consistency in early estimates on manufacturing routings and capital requirements
  • Lead discussions and consideration for potential process automation and related product design requirements
  • Track emerging technologies for consideration and adoption within console manufacturing
  • Develop KPIs, action plans, and report out on process results & improvements
  • Communicate, both verbally and written, to ensure all groups are working toward the goal of timely project completion. Regularly make presentations of project status for various levels of the organization
  • Maintain a strategic cross-functional mindset and understand how team decisions will impact the entire organization

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Effective change manager with proven ability to quickly establish credibility with different business units, influence project teams, and persuade professionals at all levels
  • Proven experience successfully managing medium to high complexity projects
  • Experience with international work, factories, and teams
  • 3-5 five years experience in a leadership position
  • Minimum 10 years related experience in a manufacturing environment or working in New Product Development with demonstrated new product introductions
  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated results and sense of urgency
  • Have excellent organizational skills and possess knowledge of production systems and techniques
  • Must demonstrate excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to understand and analyze complex business processes
  • Understanding of line design, manufacturing and lean principles and tools, as well as process and material flow strategies
  • Experience with 3D product and process modeling software
  • Ability to handle fast paced and agile culture. Ability to adapt to constant change and competing priorities
  • Travel (domestic and international) will be required up to 50%
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Engineering Technology, or equivalent years of directly related experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in Manufacturing Engineering in Assembly operations, or experience in product design and proven experience launching new products
  • Experience in Assembly error-proofing, Controls, and Automation
  • Experience with risk identification tools: PFEMA, DFMA, Process Control Plans
  • Graduate studies preferred in business areas such as Project Management, Finance, Business, or Organizational Studies
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite -- Including MS Project
  • Thorough understanding of problem-solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) - i.e. 8D, root cause analysis, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, control charts, Pareto charts, etc.
