Join us as our new Lactic Acid Bacteria Fermentation Operator

You will work in a dedicated feed grade production facility, operating production equipment to make beneficial bacteria that are used in a wide range of applications across the globe to make the world a more sustainable place. In this role you'll make an impact by:

• Operating and cleaning production equipment like fermenters, centrifuges, and other blending equipment

• Maintaining clean production environment by learning and implementing hygiene and GMP practices as this job entails the production of feed grade products

• Using computer skills to communicate, track information, and complete inventory transactions

• Actively caring about workplace safety and being an engaged participant in our safety culture

• Helping facilitates a process of continuous improvement by learning and applying LEAN manufacturing concepts

• Filling out and documenting process paperwork, with high diligence and care for record keeping

• Maintaining a positive attitude and sustaining a level of diligence and passion about your work

To succeed you must hold:

• Hold a valid driver's license

• Have a HS diploma or GED equivalent (higher education - college degree - is heavily preferred, especially in applicable fields such as Biology, Engineering, etc.)

• Be able to walk up and down steps consistently, and work at elevated heights

• Be able to maintain physical mobility (bend, turn, reach, etc. consistently through work shift)

• Be able to lift and manipulate up to 50 lbs. consistently

• Have good computer skills - knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications, email, web-based applications, etc.

• Be willing to work flexible hours, including 12-hour shifts

Location: Salem, Virginia

Expected pay range: $19-$21/hour
