Summary:

Goldbelt Professional Services, LLC is seeking a responsible and professional Research & Project Management Specialist with wastewater science experience conduct a comprehensive literature review and provide project coordination support. This dual-role position bridges technical research with operational oversight to inform scientific inquiry, program development, and stakeholder engagement.

The successful candidate will conduct in-depth literature reviews covering wastewater treatment technologies, environmental impacts, regulatory considerations, and innovative monitoring solutions. In addition, the individual will support project planning, documentation, scheduling, and reporting to ensure effective execution of research and development initiatives.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

Literature Review (Research Support):

  • Conduct thorough and systematic reviews of academic, industry, and government literature related to wastewater science.
  • Analyze and synthesize findings on treatment technologies, contaminant removal, infrastructure systems, environmental impact, regulatory compliance, and emerging technologies.
  • Develop annotated bibliographies, literature maps, and technical summaries to support research design, proposals, and publications.
  • Identify trends, gaps, and innovations relevant to the project scope.
  • Utilize citation management tools (e.g., Zotero, EndNote, Mendeley) to organize and maintain research records.

Project Management Support:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project plans, timelines, and deliverables tracking.
  • Coordinate communications and tasks among cross-functional team members and stakeholders.
  • Support grant reporting, milestone documentation, and technical presentations.
  • Monitor progress toward project goals and assist in risk identification and mitigation planning.
  • Help draft and edit reports, memos, and presentations for internal and external dissemination.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated independent literature review work, either through graduate work or experience after degree (via publications, code repository, or other)
  • Ability to collect and analyze data, leading to action-oriented recommendations
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and interact collaboratively across teams, programs, branches, divisions, the center, and with outside partners.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in managing projects with high visibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in wastewater science, environmental research, or related project coordination.

  • Demonstrated experience conducting independent literature reviews (e.g., through academic research, publications, or equivalent professional work).

  • Proven ability to support or manage projects, including timelines, deliverables, and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Public Health or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience developing and implementing bioinformatics resources for government or academic institutions, including public health informatics platforms.
  • Recognized contributions to the field through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at key conferences.
  • At least seven (3) years of experience in relevant work or related area
  • Previous experience with federal government agencies; preferably with CDC.
