The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a Budget Analyst supporting the Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). The Budget Analyst will have an extensive working knowledge of the concepts for evaluating, implementing, maintaining and enhancing programmatic support and control systems.

The staff will provide programmatic support to EERE staff with respect to budget, cost reporting and price/cost analysis support. Positions Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Review program and project activities in relation to scope, planning, definition, duration, schedule, and budget.
  • Collect information for reporting technology and project status and for evaluating performance and annual progress.
  • Assist in the management and analysis of EERE budget, performance and analysis records and information.
  • Prepare, review and configuration manage EERE and Program budget outreach materials.
  • Assist in preparing budget summary, presentation and brochure materials that summarize program and EERE budget request that reflect significant organizational and programmatic changes to the existing Programs.
  • Analyze existing budget data to identify potential gaps and prepare recommendations to address these gaps within the operations group
  • Requires extensive data manipulation and presentation.



Required Experience & Skills



  • Four (4) years' experience. Master's Degree may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Federal budget execution experience


Preferred Experience & Skills



  • Experience with DOE/ EERE budget systems a plus


Required Education



  • B.S. or B.A. in a related discipline that provides the functional skills to perform the functions and responsibilities described. Four (4) years of experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree
