Trilogy Federal is seeking a seasoned Biomedical Support Specialist with over 10 years of relevant experience, including substantial expertise supporting federal healthcare contracts within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) . The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of VA healthcare technology management standards and a strong background in the planning, procurement, implementation, and sustainment of medical equipment and systems. This role involves collaborating closely with VA Biomedical Engineering Services, clinicians, and contracting officers to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance of medical technologies across VA medical centers. Prior experience working in or alongside VA environments, particularly in support of VHA or OIT initiatives, is highly desirable.
Please note, this position is a 1099/Independent Contractor role, not a W2 position.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Apply project management principles to deployment of medical equipment and health information technologies.
  • Liaise with clinical staff to coordinate installation and testing of new equipment in clinical settings.
  • Provide site readiness and vendor management support.
  • Provide sustainment support.
  • Liaise with clinical staff to understand equipment usage and functional needs.
  • Coordinate installation and testing of new equipment in clinical settings.
  • Conduct training for clinicians or biomedical staff for new equipment.
  • Participate in planning and implementation.
  • Support initiatives for standardization and interoperability of medical devices.
  • Assist with facility expansions, relocations, or renovations.
  • Generate reports for management on site readiness, replacement planning, and contract performance in Excel, Power BI (for reporting), and internal VA project tracking systems.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between VA healthcare teams.
  • Support meetings and communicate risks to VA leadership.
  • Work with Health Technology Management (HTM) teams to prioritize workload.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 10+ years' relevant experience (preferred within a medical center and Biomedical Engineering department).
  • Master's degree (engineering preferred).
  • A minimum of five years of VA hospital or healthcare experience maintaining medical equipment or managing a hospital medical equipment program.
  • Understanding of VISN, VA medical center, and Biomedical Engineering department operations.
  • Expertise in device/network medical connectivity.
  • Expertise in equipment implementation in critical-care areas.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of concepts related to computer based medical systems, networking protocols, and information security as it applies to medical technology within VHA.
  • Ability to function as the subject matter expert in the field of biomedical engineering, directly supporting specialized clinical technology, including service, system administration, training, quality assurance, and life-cycle management; ability to effectively advise clinical and administrative staff on medical technology, including existing and emerging technology
  • Demonstrated skill in communicating and working collaboratively with key stakeholders, including technical and professional staff at various levels of the organization.
  • Understanding of regulatory agencies' requirements, industry regulatory requirements and International Standard Organization standards.
  • The ability to obtain a Public trust
