The PRODUCTION PLANNER is responsible for developing and maintaining efficient production schedules that balance customer demand, resource availability, and operational constraints to ensure timely delivery and optimal productivity. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Create and maintain detailed production schedules through M1 ERP system, considering machine availability, manpower, material and customer requirements. Analyze capacity constraints and material, and production lead times to determine optimal production schedules for resource and productivity maximization. Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, procurement and business development to develop production plans based on sales forecasts, customer orders and inventory levels. Monitor production performance, schedule adherence, and shipments and adjust schedules as needed to address delays, bottlenecks, or changing priorities. Work closely with buyers to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components to support production schedules. Communicate with business development teams to address inquiries, expedite orders, manage customer expectations and provide delivery dates. Identify potential capacity constraints and propose mitigation strategies to maintain optimal production levels to production management and business development. Collaborate with management to evaluate and implement process improvements to increase capacity and reduce lead times. Success in this role will be measured by on-time delivery rate, schedule adherence, and reduction in lead time. Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in operations management, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus. Proven experience as a production planner scheduler in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device or aerospace industry or a similarly regulated field. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Strong knowledge of production planning and scheduling principles, including capacity planning, lead time management, and material requirements planning (MRP). Experience with M1 ERP preferred; familiarity with similar systems such as Epicor, Oracle or SAP is acceptable. Strong organizational and critical thinking skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Must be organized, and self-motivated. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
