Job Description: Seeking college-age or college completers as tutors who will work with small groups of middle or high school students during the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) elective and Excel classes during the school day and under the supervision of the AVID teacher. During the AVID tutorial, tutors will facilitate small group inquiry-based support with groups of a 1:6 ratio or less around content subject matter. Tutors will be required to attend training in order to learn and be able to utilize the AVID learning strategies and the Tutorial process while tutoring between 2-4 days per week, or approximately 14-25 hours per week, based on the school schedule, site needs, and tutor availability and flexibility. Tutors may be asked to support tutorials for schoolwide programming beyond the AVID class. College students are highly encouraged to apply for this position. Priority will be granted to those who can meet the hours necessary to support the elective class schedule. Former tutors will be retained and placed based on assets and tutor team needs. Scheduled work will begin in late September and conclude mid-May. Duties and Responsibilities:
