Overview:

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and evaluation of complex network systems and communications infrastructure. This role involves diagnosing and resolving advanced networking issues and performing strategic planning and analysis to support the development and enhancement of network architecture. The position requires a deep technical understanding of internet systems, hardware components, and security configurations.

Responsibilities:



  • Install, maintain, and evaluate network systems and communications infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues involving multiple variables and technologies.
  • Design and implement network architecture to meet organizational needs and performance standards.
  • Conduct feasibility and cost studies for new network systems and enhancements.
  • Configure and manage networking hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and other components.
  • Ensure high levels of security, availability, and performance within the network environment.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Operate independently on specialized technical and business initiatives; may lead project teams or serve as a technical mentor to junior staff.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of professional experience in network engineering or related disciplines.
  • Extensive knowledge of networking technologies, including internet protocols, routers, switches, firewalls, and related hardware/software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex technical challenges.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent) may be preferred.
  • Top Secret Clearance
