Overall Summary

The Digital Content Specialist Level I is a PreMedia graphics production art professional versed in digital media, digital and conventional printing and personalization processes. They are responsible for reviewing, building and optimizing client supplied art files and digital assets by extracting and converting information needed to support digital press personalization. They act as the primary resource within content development to trouble-shoot and resolve issues that arise during any stage of the project life cycle (sales, requirement gathering, and development, through manufacturing).

Primary Duties/Responsibilities



  • Follow department procedures for proofing, tracking, and monitoring progress of projects.
  • Review, edit and prepare art files and digital assets by extracting and converting to layout and personalization applications.
  • Assemble project mock-ups for internal and external use.
  • Prepare fonts, logos, images etc. to ensure print quality and client requirements are met.
  • Import art files and digital assets and personalization layers into Quadiant Inspire software.
  • Create, manipulate and verify WFD output against client supplied information.
  • Create form images to be used for creation of digital soft proofs for approval.
  • Organize and catalog files and resources, maintains DAM Library systems.
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers, vendors and all supporting departments of IWCO.
  • Suggest and make improvements to images and image quality in print and digital formats.
  • Troubleshoot any problems with Customers, the design team and production.
  • Communicate across other teams to ensure their expectations have been met.
  • Keeping up to date with graphic design trends, techniques, and software.
  • Perform other duties or tasks as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies



  • Proficient in all applicable Microsoft Office and graphics software, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Proficiency in Quadiant InSpire Designer preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to follow layouts and formats for production on IWCO equipment.
  • Provide a graphic design portfolio that demonstrates knowledge in composition, hierarchy, and color theory as well as a clear understanding of typography and layout.
  • Must be comfortable in a hands-on graphic production environment (printing, cutting, assembling and delivery) with high attention to detail.
  • Proven familiarity with both print and digital production workflows.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, delegating as appropriate.
  • Ability to articulate conceptual and design decisions to peers and senior leadership.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.


Education and Experience



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prepress Production/Graphic Design Degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years graphic design with emphasis in print production.



Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to work 10 hours consecutively.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Pre-employment drug screen and background required.


Salary:

The salary range for this position is $55,000-$65,000 per year.

At IWCO, base pay is determined by job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience, along with factors such as role scope and location.
