Responsibilities

As a Sr. Construction Manager, you will oversee all phases of outside plant (OSP) utility construction for a variety of telecom projects, including fiber builds, coax upgrades, and greenfield infrastructure. You will lead construction crews and subcontractors to deliver high-quality, on-time, and on-budget projects in a safety-driven environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead all field activities related to OSP telecom construction, including underground and aerial work, directional drilling, fiber/coax splicing, permitting, and restoration.
  • Provide day-to-day direction to internal crews and subcontractors; schedule work, monitor performance, and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop scalable and sustainable construction practices across regions.
  • Drive safety and quality standards across all job sites; reinforce company-wide safety culture.
  • Monitor project timelines and budgets, ensuring milestones and customer expectations are met.
  • Identify and resolve field issues, design conflicts, and build constraints in real time.
  • Participate in pre- and post-construction meetings; review scopes of work, redlines, and closeout documentation.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including quotes, work orders, change orders, and invoice approvals.
  • Interface with customers to resolve escalated issues with professionalism and urgency.
  • Support hiring, training, and coaching of field teams; mentor foremen and supervisors.
  • Contribute to estimates, bids, and project financial reviews as needed.

Qualifications

About You:

  • 8+ years of experience managing telecom/utility construction projects, with strong leadership skills.
  • Hands-on knowledge of fiber and coax splicing, directional drilling, map reading, and utility locating.
  • Experience managing multiple crews and subcontractors across diverse projects.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and budget tracking.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning internal project management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license; willingness to travel to job sites.

Salary Guidelines: $80,000-$95,000/yr + company truck
