Under direction of the Academic Administrator/Executive Director and Associate Director of Education, as a University of California, Davis Seed Biotechnology Center (SBC, sbc.ucdavis.edu) program representative, will provide overall management and support of department events such as Seed Central, as well as short courses up to one week long, such as Seed Business 101/201, Seed Production, Seed Biology Quality Pathology, online E-Series and various other short courses, meetings and events. Contribute to the enhancement and delivery of various short courses offered by the SBC. Serve as primary lead of short courses and events and support other courses such as Plant Breeding Academy. Provide development of the programs, manage logistics, and manage in the marketing and outreach for all courses and events.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Experience in program administration with demonstrated skills in planning, analysis, organization, and leadership.
- Experience with electronic communications, including e-mail and the internet, and Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams.
- Experience managing a program from start to finish and working with different groups or stakeholders to achieve a goal.
- Skills to conduct thorough logical analysis of a situation, task or program, including identification of issues, challenges, barriers, possible solution, weighing their pros and cons, and plan and positively resolve the situation with ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent skills to support client relations and maintain the highest level of quality customer service techniques, including the ability to communicate effectively and professionally before groups.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in collecting data from evaluations of programs, and projects in order to determine the effectiveness, improvement need and success of programs and projects.
- Experience producing high quality work using Adobe products(Acrobat and PhotoShop).
- Demonstrated skill and experience in desktop publishing and image processing.
- Experience marketing events or educational courses, including creating marketing plan, managing team expectations, and executing the plan to increase registrations for an event or course.
- Clerical and office administration experience.
- Skills to create web pages and online registration forms.
- Publication, printing and production knowledge and layout skills. Publicity/promotion/media skills.
- Skills to communicate and interact effectively with agency representatives, industry personnel, researchers, department staff, interest group representatives and administrators.

Department Overview
Under the supervision of the Academic Administrator/Executive Director and Associate Director of Education, the Program Representative will act as the primary manager is expected to contribute to the evolution of the Seed Biotechnolgy Center courses and events. Responsibilities include: program organization, executing the programs, managing logistics, marketing information dissemination and outreach. These courses are designed to teach people important industry topics and information. These courses are offered multiple times throughout a year in the US and sometimes outside of the country. This position will be responsible for various SBC educational programs throughout the year as advertised on sbc.ucdavis.edu and new courses added as needed.

Work Environment
UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014.
