Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery

Job Description

The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Missouri is pleased to announce an opening for a Research Specialist II to join our growing and dynamic research team. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of advancing treatments and care in otolaryngology through active participation in clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:
* Evaluate patients and/or potential candidates for research studies based on inclusion/exclusion criteria.
* Recruit and enroll patients in clinical trials, ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
* Conduct clinical trial visits in accordance with study protocols and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
* Collect, record, and maintain accurate study data for analysis and reporting.
* Serve as Primary Study Coordinator for 4-5 clinical trials, including:

  • Training and educating participants
  • Scheduling study visits
  • Conducting protocol visits
  • Entering study data
  • Preparing for and hosting monitoring visit

* Act as Backup Study Coordinator for additional trials as needed.
* Maintain Investigator Site Files in compliance with regulatory requirements and study protocols.
* Oversee and ensure up-to-date regulatory documentation across all clinical trials.
* Perform routine calibration and maintenance of clinical trial equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Highly organized and detail-oriented.
* Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
* Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Previous experience in clinical research and patient care preferred.
* Must be comfortable handling sensitive data.

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $18.87 - $26.87 hourly
Grade: GGS - 08
