Your opportunity
As Sr.Director of Product for NewRelic's market leading APM suite, you will own the vision, strategy, and execution for the next generation of APM: from language agents and eBPF instrumentation to an intuitive, AI driven end-user experience. You'll partner with engineering, design, and gotomarket teams to delight tens of thousands of developers and SREs worldwide while accelerating NewRelic's leadership in cloudnative observability.

What you'll do

  • Set the product vision and multiyear roadmap for APM, aligning agent strategy, distributed tracing, and AIpowered insights with company growth objectives.
  • Lead and develop a team of product managers (and matrixed peers) to deliver innovative, highquality releases on time and at scale.
  • Translate customer pain points into winning features by combining qualitative research, telemetry analytics, market trends, and competitive insights. * Drive crossfunctional execution-partnering with engineering, UX, marketing, sales, and customer success-to launch, position, and monetize new APM capabilities.
  • Champion open standards and ecosystem partnerships (e.g., OpenTelemetry, cloud providers, opensource communities) to extend NewRelic's reach.
  • Measure success obsessively, using adoption, retention, NPS, and revenue impact to iterate and prioritize.
  • Influence senior leadership by presenting clear business cases, risk tradeoffs, and databacked recommendations.

This role requires

  • 8+years of product management experience in SaaS or cloud infrastructure, with 3+years leading product managers.
  • Demonstrated ownership of an APM, observability, monitoring, or adjacent developertools product at enterprise scale.
  • Proven track record of defining strategy, shipping complex features, and driving revenue or adoption metrics.
  • Solid technical depth in distributed systems, cloudnative architectures, language agents, or instrumentation (e.g., OpenTelemetry, eBPF).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication-able to articulate vision to engineers, executives, and customers alike.
  • Datadriven mindset; comfortable balancing quantitative analysis with strong user empathy. * Experience influencing crossfunctional partners and executives in a highgrowth, fastmoving environment.

Bonus points if you have

  • Prior leadership of multilanguage agent teams (Java, .NET, Node.js, Python, etc.) or experience integrating AI/ML insights into observability products.
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud, Kubernetes, serverless, or edge observability challenges.
  • Handson contributions to opensource projects or standards bodies (especially OpenTelemetry).
  • Startup or scaleup experience that demonstrates creativity, resourcefulness, and ownership.
