LOCATION: Hybrid; Washington, DC - 3 days/week onsite, 2 days/week remote

OVERVIEW:

The mission of the National Security Division (NSD) is to carry out the Department's highest priority: to combat terrorism and other threats to national security. The Infrastructure Support and Software Development Services division provides all IT services necessary to support the NSD's Infrastructure & Operations as well as Software Development, Engineering, and Service Desk.

ITC Federal is looking for a Technical Writer to support a vital component of national security within the Department of Justice. This is a unique opportunity to work with a highly skilled engineering and software development team in an Agile and DevSecOps environment. Among many initiatives, the team plans to design and build a new case management system and continue development of a high-profile electronic filing application using Agile Scrum development methods. The technical writer is accountable with capturing the engineer's technical knowledge and transferring it to the appropriate audience using the best means. The work requires a Top-Secret clearance with ability to obtain Sensitive compartmented information (SCI) access.

Research, write, edit, and proofread technical data for use in documents such as manuals, procedures, specifications, agile artifacts, and special reports
• Create audio-visual and on-line help
• Ensure technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style
• Assist in establishing style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations
• Participate in Agile Scrum sessions to include daily standups and demonstrations
• Perform quality control on deliverables

• 5+ years of Technical Writing experience, required
• Experience with analyzing and documenting complex business processes, software development requirements, and taxonomies
• Experience with technical writing and documentation experience pertaining to any aspect of automatic data processing
• Excellent writing skills

DESIRED:

• Experience with Microsoft Visio
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Experience with Adobe Captivate for elearning
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline related to the specific skill, preferred
