The Role

As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho we are looking for a Senior Compensation Analyst. The person will assist in the analysis and administration of the organization's employee compensation programs. Participates in annual compensation surveys, gathers market data to perform analysis to determine the organization's competitive position, and analyzes pay grades and salary ranges according to compensation guidelines. Responsible for supporting the annual salary planning process, conducting job evaluations and job leveling, benchmarking positions, and will assist with the analysis and implementation of other various compensation-related programs, practices, and policies.

This position is remote eligible.

The Responsibilities

  • Assists in the design and implementation of base pay and incentive programs, equity plans, and benefits programs that reflect the organization's total rewards philosophy.
  • Evaluates, benchmarks, and market prices jobs using survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position along with assessing jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt.
  • Reviews proposed salary increases and candidate offers and provides feedback based on analysis of the labor market and internal equity.
  • Provides administrative support to the global annual salary planning process, including bonus and incentive plan processes, and analysis.
  • Participates in market and salary surveys to ensure compensation and benefits programs are benchmarked against best practices, researched against industry and employment trends, and compliant with legislation.
  • Assists with compensation analysis to develop pay grades and evaluate pay competitiveness.
  • Contributes to the development and documentation of career paths and alignment of internal jobs.
  • Develops and documents procedures to streamline processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinates the preparation and documentation of position descriptions.
  • Communicates and trains internal and external clients on compensation policies and practices.
  • Assists in administering relocation and global mobility programs.
  • Assists with problem resolution, database management, testing and system functionality.
  • Creates ad hoc reports and prepares data for compensation and benefits analysis for all levels of the organization.
  • Audits compensation, retirement plans, and benefits data.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

The Individual

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field. CCP certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of six years of employee compensation administration, compensation analyst, or equivalent experience required.
  • Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws involving compensation, employment, and HR required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including high attention to detail required.
  • Strong written and verbal skills are necessary to effectively interact with team members.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations' HRIS and similar human resource management software and practices required.
  • Experience with salary surveys and management tools preferred (e.g. Radford, Mercer, CompTool, MarketPay, etc.).
  • Must be able to travel up to 5% to work sites and/or professional events.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Workday Compensation preferred.

Internal Partners:

  • Working with all levels of employees, Human Resources, Finance, leadership teams.

External Partners:

  • Vendors and suppliers.

The Work Environment

No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 30% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 70% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work. Up to 25% travel required. Travel includes airplane, automobile travel and overnight hotel.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $136,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
