Position Description

The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert capable of bridging the gap between vendor technology and clinical operations. They must possess a strong understanding of the product's functionality and troubleshooting techniques, enabling them to validate system performance and identify issues. This includes evaluating current workflows, recognizing opportunities for optimization, and recommending improvements in either system design or operational processes. The candidate should have firsthand industry experience in Oracle Health Virtual Health products and demonstrate deep familiarity with the application of electronic health records in that setting. They must work to resolve issues and change requests. They must be able to confidently lead discussions with diverse stakeholders, assess current-state workflows, and propose enhancements that consider both immediate needs and downstream impacts. Additionally, they should be adept at articulating changes to affected groups, integrating those insights into training content and communication strategies to support long-term success across future rollouts.

Type of Employment: Full-Time salaried and fully benefited position

Work Location/Travel: Expected 50% travel required; applicants must be free from travel restrictions to accommodate evolving needs of the client.

Salary Range: $75,022 - $90,026 base salary, depending on experience and location. Competitive salary/pay, potential for bonuses. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is highly competitive but dependent upon employment type (1099, contract, W2).

Role Reports to: Hiring Manager

Direct Reports: This role has no direct reports

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and clinical support for telehealth-enabled services integrated within the Cerner Millennium EHR

  • Assist providers and patients in setting up and troubleshooting virtual care platforms (e.g., VA Video Connect)

  • Coordinate with IT, clinical operations, and informatics teams to ensure seamless Cerner and telehealth platform interoperability

  • Configure and optimize Cerner workflows for virtual visits, including PowerChart documentation, scheduling, order entry, and follow-up

  • Train VA clinical staff on virtual care workflows, telehealth etiquette, and EHR documentation standards

  • Manage telehealth peripherals (digital stethoscopes, BP monitors, cameras) and ensure readiness in patient homes or clinical hubs

  • Supports remote patient monitoring (RPM) and chronic care management processes

  • Monitor virtual encounter metrics (no-show rates, access times, satisfaction) and generate performance reports

  • Assist with clinical informatics initiatives, workflow redesign, and change management related to telehealth expansion

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Understanding of VA Telehealth Services, VHA Handbook guidance, and federal care delivery models

  • In-depth knowledge of Cerner Millennium, particularly Ambulatory/PowerChart documentation and scheduling tools

  • Familiarity with virtual care policies, privacy/security requirements, and patient consent

  • Excellent communication, training, and end-user support skills

  • Ability to work independently and across multidisciplinary teams

Education/Certification Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Informatics, Public Health, Healthcare IT, or related field (required)

  • Clinical license (RN, LPN, MA, or equivalent) preferred

  • Telehealth certifications (ATA, Telehealth Resource Center training, etc.) preferred

  • Cerner application certification or credentialing preferred

Experience Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in telehealth coordination, informatics, or clinical IT support and supporting Cerner EHR implementations

  • Direct experience with Cerner Millennium, including remote workflows and patient/provider documentation

  • Familiarity with VA Video Connect (VVC) and Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) platforms

Technical Skills Required:

  • Cerner Millennium: PowerChart, Scheduling, MPages, Dynamic Documentation

  • Telehealth platforms: VA Video Connect (VVC), Amwell, Zoom for Government, etc.

  • Reporting Tools: Power Insight, Excel, SharePoint, VISN dashboards

  • EHR optimization and basic troubleshooting (hardware/software/network)

  • Familiarity with remote device integration and virtual encounter workflows
