Job Title: Structured Cable Technician - Data Center Location: Pflugerville, TX Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in structured cabling, specifically supporting data center environments Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Structured Cable Technician to join our team on a large-scale construction project. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of hands-on experience supporting data centers, with a strong experience in pulling, terminating, and testing Cat5/6 and fiber optic cabling. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can work in fast-paced environments and is comfortable interpreting technical documentation and blueprints.
Key Responsibilities: * Cable Installation & Termination: * Pull, route, and secure Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cables throughout data center and construction environments * Terminate cables using keystone-style jacks and patch panels * Perform cable testing and certification to ensure compliance with industry standards * Infrastructure Setup: * Install network racks, cabinets, ladder racks, and cable trays * Mount and secure equipment in server rooms and IDF/MDF closets * Documentation & Planning: * Review and interpret job documentation including: * * Floor plans and equipment locations * Reflected ceiling plans * Conduit call-outs * Wall elevations * Signal flow diagrams * Cable pull schedules * Quality Assurance: * Ensure all installations meet company and industry standards * Maintain clean and organized work areas * Troubleshoot and resolve cabling issues as needed * Team Collaboration: * Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other technicians * Communicate effectively to ensure project timelines and goals are met Qualifications: * Minimum 2 years of structured cabling experience in data center environments * Proficiency with Cat5e/Cat6 and fiber optic cable installation and termination * Familiarity with BICSI standards and TIA/EIA specifications * Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents * Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces * Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Intermediate Level Apply today to learn more! *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
