Perform scientific work associated with the analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets. Use large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization. Use models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. Mine and analyze data using a variety of data tools. Build and implement models using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. Develop processes and machine learning-based tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy. Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques. Drive business results with data-based insights. Education: Masters of Science in Data Science Required Experience: 8+ years of related experience Required Technical Skills: Proven experience developing machine learning models and engineering features using Python, Spark, and other packages in Amazon SageMaker AI Able to create complex queries in SQL for testing and data analysis Experience developing ML pipelines and with ML Operations Experience with Model Tuning and Governance Experience with the following tools: MLFlow, GitHub, Docker Public Trust: Requires ability to pass CMS background check and meet the residency requirement for having resided in the US at least (3) three out of the last (5) five years Required Skills and Abilities: Data Science experience with healthcare and/or claims analysis Statistics background and knowledge of queuing theory Expected to formulate questions that will help the business and then proceed in solving them Must be able to work with engineering teams to source the right data, evaluate system performance Experience with one or more: Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Predictive Analytics Problem-solving attitude High level of self-motivation and initiative Must be able to effectively develop written artifacts and communicate ML/AI concepts to stakeholders Strong written and verbal communication skills *Skills* data science, feature engineer, machine learning, predictive modeling, writing skills, predictive analytics *Top Skills Details* data science,feature engineer,machine learning,predictive modeling,writing skills,predictive analytics *Additional Skills & Qualifications* What government agency/customer does the contract support? Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) What is the mission of the program? The purpose of this special project for the MSPSC contract is to use machine learning models to analyze Medicare claims data and to improve model(s) for identifying incident-related claims with greater accuracy than the current approach. What is the length of the contract? What Option Year is it currently in? When is re-compete? Recompete September 11, 2026 What is the typical work schedule (hours)? M-F 9am-5pm ET; Core hours for the team are 9am-330pm ET What will a typical workday look like for the Contract Labor Associate (CLA)? Typical day is 8 hours which will include meetings and productivity time What do your best people have in common (top three/five skillsets)? Prompt response, excellent communication, team player, natural curiosity, self-motivation. What is the interview process (phone then in-person or only phone, etc.)? Is there more than one round? Will they interview you and other team members? The goal is a single on-camera interview that will be with me (or another manager) and one or more technical team members or SMEs. On occasion, a second interview is requested before the final selection is made. *Experience Level* Expert Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $68.00 - $75.00/hr.
