The Member Advisor II provides exceptional service with in-branch member transactions, account relationships, and loan products. Acts as a resource to members, educating them on products and services to improve their financial wellbeing. Responsible for processing transactions, opening new accounts, establishing lending relationships and identifying ways to optimize members' credit union experience. Supports and mentors more junior branch staff.

Essential Duties:



  • Actively work towards established product and services goals, and maintaining production and quality standards consistent with the Member Advisor II role.
  • Maintain an excellent knowledge of the features and benefits of Credit Union services and products, as well as eligibility for Credit Union membership. Demonstrate ability to educate members on Credit Union offerings, including deposit accounts, loan products, including HELOCs, and other financial services.
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and transfers via counter, mail, and phone, while assisting members with inquiries or issues to resolve account errors, ensuring accuracy in research and compliance with cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Open new accounts, build relationships with members using established member onboarding standards, and effectively cross-sell Credit Union products and services.
  • Accept and accurately process account and loan requests in accordance with established Credit Union guidelines. Demonstrate timeliness and accuracy in loan and account documentation.
  • Achieve performance goals in member service and operations while serving as a key resource to both staff and members, applying sound judgment to successfully resolve a variety of inquiries and scenarios.
  • Build and maintain Book of Business (BOB) through regular member contact. Use established relationships to determine services or special promotions specifically benefitting members included in BOB.
  • Actively participate in department activities and weekly sales meetings to achieve service and sales goals.
  • Maintain Vault balancing and cash operations knowledge.
  • Assist with branch and account audits on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Collaborate with teammates to ensure a positive team environment and overall member experience. Acts as a resource to branch staff.
  • Support member outreach efforts by actively participating in outbound calls to members.
  • Follow up on referral opportunities and initiate daily quality assurance/sales calls to build member relationships, increase use of Credit Union services, and efficiently handle phone, written, or direct inquiries from members and staff.
  • Adhere to standard security procedures, including safe deposit security. Attend all mandatory robbery and security training. Validate robbery and bomb threat packets are up-to-date and available at work station.
  • Adapt to evolving member needs and effectively navigate change with resilience, maintaining a strong commitment to organizational goals. Proactively support business initiatives by embracing new processes, technologies, and service strategies to enhance team performance and member experience.
  • Demonstrate strong regulatory knowledge applicable to this position and understand and comply with government regulations with particular emphasis on the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US Patriot Act and related regulations.
  • Actively participate and fulfill expectations in the Credit Union Email Security Awareness Program as outlined in the Information Security Program Acknowledgement document.
  • This position is subject to the SAFE Act Registration Requirements - You must register and remain in good standing with the Federal Registry System (NMLS) per the SAFE Act requirements. You will be required to submit to the SAFE Act background check and fingerprinting process. Failure to register successfully or to maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE Act will affect your continued employment and may cause immediate termination.


Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience:

Member Advisor I:One year to three years of similar or related experience.Salary Range: $21.69 - $29.29 per hour. Budgeted Target Rate: $22 - $22.50 per hour.

Member Advisor II:Two to four years of similar or related experience.Salary Range: $23.57 - $31.82 per hour. Budgeted Target Rate: $24 - 24.50 per hour.

Education:A high school education or GED. Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation preferred.

Bilingual skills highly desired

Additional Details:

Branch Hours:Monday through Friday 9:30am to 5:30pm. Saturdays 9:30am to 2:00pm. Closed Sundays.

Location: Happy Valley branch -13220 SE 172nd Ave.Happy Valley, OR 97086

Position Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
