Position Summary

The Advanced Facilities Technician is responsible for managing the maintenance and operations of the physical facility. This includes coordinating with external contractors and ensuring all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. The role also involves performing hands-on maintenance duties and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Coordination:

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for outside contractors, scheduling and overseeing repair and maintenance work.

Maintenance and Repair:

  • Perform and supervise routine maintenance tasks such as painting, light construction, cleaning, and furniture moves.

  • Operate and maintain site equipment, using hand and power tools as needed.

  • Maintain building management software and systems.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including power diagrams, network diagrams, and space usage records.

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and operational standards.

Vendor and Contractor Management:

  • Support and guide vendors and contractors, including security, cafeteria, and media relations personnel.

  • Manage relationships with external service providers to ensure quality and efficiency.

Facility Operations:

  • Oversee shipping, receiving, recycling, and the organization of employee break areas.

  • Assist in hosting and managing visits from corporate visitors and dignitaries.

  • Provide backup support to the receptionist during lunch breaks and PTO.

  • Perform other site-specific tasks as required.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field.

  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.

  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.

  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with contractors, vendors, and team members.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications in facility management, electrical systems, or HVAC systems are highly desirable.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.

  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when necessary.

  • Exposure to various weather conditions while performing outdoor tasks.
